Pangkor Laut Resort
If luxury is what you have in mind, look no further than YTL's Pangkor Laut Resort. Voted the number one hotel in the world by Condé Nast Traveller UK in 2003, it’s exclusive, elegant and the rates are reassuringly expensive but well worth it. Ask for full board options as dining a la carte is going to cost you an arm and a leg.
Specialising in high end weddings and romantic honeymoon escapes, this is truly a little bit of Asian splendour. The pool and beach bar at the resort’s core is magnificent; it would be more than possible to spend a week just in and around the incredible infinity pool there (the likes of Joan Collins and Michael Schumacher agree and often do just that), although to do so would preclude yourself from seeing the beautiful private bay on the other side of the island.
