Down in the still-quiet Bangsar South, Luvsierra combines two clichéd female favourites: clothes and cake. You’ll walk through a nest of blue-topped tables to get to the café/boutique, which is girly to the extreme – pink and lilac walls, little pots of flowers and the aforementioned checked blue tablecloths. The boutique itself houses racks of hits and misses: on the hits side are colourful blouses, quirky printed dresses (we especially loved a mushroom maxi), sheer lace cardigans and lacey Perspex cuffs. The misses: shoddy handmade headbands, some questionable hairclips and misapplied animal print. At the back of the shop hang dainty smocked dresses for little girls and a token rack of men’s shirts, as well as a range of headscarves and rhinestone accessories.
