You’d be forgiven for thinking Eckywoobee is a Japanese pub. The eccentric-sounding sports bar has nothing to do with the land of the rising sun. Previously located at TTDI plaza, Eckywoobee attracts sports enthusiasts like moths to a flame. It’s not hard to see why; from the hockey sticks, badminton racquets, F1 and football paraphernalia, tennis racquets, roller blades, boomerang, golf clubs and rugby collectibles, you’ll be spending a lot of time admiring all the adornments.
Drinking, as you’d expect, is largely devoid of cocktails but it doesn’t matter because beers are the main attraction here. The music policy runs from classic Top 40 to new age and indie, and though it seems a touch out of character to us, the bar has recently launched a new acoustic night where local aspiring musicians can perform. While Eckywoobee might not be a destination bar in itself, it’s still a hip place to catch a game over a few pints.
