Melding electronic dance beats with rock aesthetics, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons’ live DJ sets are usually as grandiose as their ethereal melodic hooks that peppered the ‘Hanna’ original soundtrack last year. Along with The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, the electronic music veterans were pioneers of the big beat genre, which has origins in acid house and psychedelic rock, when they emerged with their debut album ‘Exit Planet Dust’ in 1995. Known for their theatrical approach to live concerts, replete with dazzling visual arrangements and bold lighting, the Manchester duo should deliver a sensory assault-like performance with their infectious blend of techno, garage and house.
