From his humble beginnings as a cobbler in Hackney, Malaysian-born Jimmy Choo has risen to great heights in high-end shoe fashion in a truly fairy tale style. With the backing of British Vogue accessories editor Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo (the label) was established in 1996, opening its first stand-alone boutique in London.
Jimmy Choo has since fitted the feet of the late Princess Diana and is even referred to by first name in a Beyonce song, making it synonymous with luxury and style. With perfectly formed arches and exquisite heels, Jimmy Choo shoes are more of a fashion statement rather than an afterthought to accessorise an outfit. The label has also diversified into designing eyewear, accessories and handbags. The Suria KLCC outlet sells a selection of sunglasses, bags and, of course, shoes.
