Look book February 2010
By Lim Chee Wah
The new Spring/Summer 2010 collections for men slowly made their way into the stores. Lim Chee Wah picks a few to match this month's festive mood
Shanghai Tang’s 'Love Restraint' men's collection has classy floral prints and palates borrowed from the beautifully serene mountainous landscapes often depicted in Chinese 'Shan Shui' paintings. As such, you get a chic yet sophisticated collection that is suited for the Chinese New Year without looking like an ang pow.
If you want to get all decked out in bright colours, we suggest snuggly underwear from Private Structure. What you wear under your clothes also says a lot about you so if you are looking to make an impression, ditch your staid boxers and briefs this Valentine's.
For something more demure yet smart, Alfred Dunhill has a collection that pulls off the formal look without being stuffy. Even though the jackets and shirts are dominated by classic palettes, they appear very cool and modish, something you'd expect in Daniel Craig, Truman Capote and Jude Law's wardrobes. We like the green or navy blazer, which are inspired by early 20th century military jackets.
