Parents enrol their children as young as six to learn vocal, classical dance, veena and bala vihar (rudiments of fine arts) at TFA. The institution – complete with dance studios, music rooms, rehearsal hall and a new 600-seater Shantanand Auditorium – is serious about bequeathing the Indian culture and tradition to the younger generation.

In fact, TFA is so influential that veteran Bharatanatyam guru, Vatsala Sivadas, was awarded ‘Warisan Orang Hidup’ in 2008. And former students have returned to teach, such as prominent dancer Umesh Shetty. Even if you can’t withstand strict discipline, there are always stage performances and musical dramas held almost every month to fill your cultural interest.
