There’s a new kid on the block. Changkat Bukit Bintang’s block to be exact. With the bountiful bars around the area, this newcomer has a slight twist to it. Although the concept is not new and has been attempted by others, ‘Cloth & Clef’ is determined to be different from the rest. The brainchild of part time DJ Ethaya, the name is derived from his two most passionate past times. Hence ‘Cloth & Clef.’ Essentially a well stocked bar, it will house a boutique, an art gallery and a stage for performances, all under one roof.
Let’s begin with the boutique, situated on the first floor. We’ve been told it will carry urban streetwear brands that are rarely found in K KL. Brands such as R RVCA, Junk Food t-shirts, U Ubiq shoes, A Antik jeans, Janeville bags, N Nikotina collectibles and Satcas, just to name a few of the many items that will available. To make it even more special, each product brought in will be in a very small quantity and will not be repeated. Therefore, if you do see something that tickles your fancy, it’s best you get it on the spot as you might not get another chance.
As for entertainment, the new establishment has approached a number of local talents to fill the nights with performances. Expect DJs during the weekends from acts such as ‘Loops Collective,’ ‘Jo’ and ‘TBone.’ Local singer songwriter Reza Salleh and ‘One Buck Short’s frontman, R Rahul will be also be cooking up some music for weeknights.
