Saturday nights at Upper Daikanyama (literally, its upper-floor) has not been the same since mid-2011, as the fellas behind Deer Society have been pulling off some seriously madpopular parties. Alex Anthony aka Asquared, Rudolph La Faber aka Rudd, and Mathias Rapp aka VNRP are three friends who sought to ‘create experiences for the masses’, and as a result, Deer Society was born as ‘a culture collective of individuals’ who basically want everybody to have a good time.

Scenesters and hipsters have thronged some of Deer Society’s most-talked- about alternative parties and immersed themselves in indie dance, nu disco and other alternative tunes over the last few months. Drinks are plentiful, and the dress code is loosely defined although you’ll blend in best if you don the hipster uniform of skinny jeans.

We’ve also seen themed parties (the ‘Waiting for The Love Boat’ sailor party was definitely an epic one), as well as international DJs rocking the decks of Daikanyama. Surely, we have high hopes for Deer Society in 2012, as it will probably be the best alternative night you could ask for – or is it already the best?
