updated TOKL had just learnt that the ‘Hed Kandi’ series of events planned for KL has been cancelled.
Hi there,
I hope this email finds you well. I am responsible for all Hed Kandi bookings in Asia and have been working with Hac 51 on the event that was supposed to happen next Friday 20th June at Luna Bar. We would like to make it known that the event has been cancelled due to a breakdown in communication between Hac 51 and Luna Bar, and that as far as Hed Kandi were concerned until today we were still coming to party with you in KL so are extremely disappointed! Hed Kandi are still looking at holding events in KL in the not so distant future so keep a look out! If you could please get this up on your website that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards,
Sam Cannon

TIME OUT KL is proud to exclusively reveal that ‘Hed Kandi’ is coming to KL.
One of the ultimate party brands in the world, ‘Hed Kandi’ will be a huge addition to the clubbing scene in the city with various special nights out and DJ focussed events across the remainder of 2008.
Am I still getting a blank look? Let me enlighten you cretins. ‘Hed Kandi’ was established in 1999 as a compilation brand specialising in house music. Predominantly vocal, soulful house, US garage and glittering disco tunes, the brand has created over 60 albums, a number of artist projects and three UK Top Ten singles and numerous Top 40 hits. With such enormous success, Hed Kandi has evolved into creating parties as well. The first full residency began in London, 2002. From then on, it spread across UK clubs and soon after the world. And now...KL.
The party responsible for this arrival is ‘HAC51’. A local brand dedicated to delivering quality music to the local audience.
So where will this world class event take place? At one of KL’s most celebrated nightspots, where you can go crazy while enjoying the view of the Petronas Twin Towers up close and personal. With more parties planned for the rest of the year, Luna Bar will continue to be the official home of ‘Hed Kandi’ and Time Out KL will be bringing you the latest news on who will be playing and when each month as the DJs and parties are announced.
‘Hed Kandi’s Residency 2008 Asia Tour’ will blast off with David Dunne and Ian C headlining, while DJ Bernie will start things off before the main party starts at 11pm.
Spinning professionally since 1987, DJ Bernie has performed at almost every club in town, as well as across Malaysia and internationally. Known for having strong roots in funk, new wave, rock, soul and R&B. Latin jazz to break beats and hip-hop, he’s just the man to welcome ‘Hed Kandi’ to KL.
