On April 2, 2006, an anime series went on the air. The anime was The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, produced by Kyoto Animation, which became a massive hit with otaku watchers all over the world. Aired in non-linear order, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya catapulted the career of its seiyuus big times, landing them into the A-list.
One of the most popular characters is Yuki Nagato, an alien, created by the Data Integration Thought Entity, send down to earth to monitor Haruhi Suzumiya. Her seiyuu is Chihara Minori.
Born Nov 18, 1980, Chihara Minori, affectionately known to her fans as Minorin, actually started late in the industry. Her first role was in the anime Tenjho Tenge (2003) as Natsume Aya. Since then, she’s been in numerous hit series, such as Ga-Rei Zero (Tsuchimiya Kagura), Minami-ke (Minami Chiaki) and The Tower of Druaga (Coopa).
Besides being a seiyuu, Minorin is also an accomplished J-Pop singer. She recently (June 3) released her 6th CD single Tomorrow's chance (Check out the PV below).
Now, for the first time ever, Minorin will be performing to all her fans live in Malaysia. She will be coming to the DaiCon event as part of her first ever South East Asia tour. The DaiCon appearance will include a meet-the-fans Q&A session on Sat July 11, and a special live performance on Sun July 12.
So, if you love anime like me, this is simply an opportunity you cannot miss. To book your tickets for Minorin’s performance and the Q&A session, click here.
