What is more fascinating than to explore around town and discover something delectable that serves up almost everything that will ease your hunger? If comfort food was the answer, then sidle yourself into three restaurants and enjoy the gastronomic pleasure of their signature dishes, all within walking distance of each others.
Opus Bistro is connected along Jalan Bangkung in Bukit Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur with Cava and Leonardo’s Dining Room. All three restaurants were taking part in the UOB Hot Picks promotion throughout the month of April, which TOKL had the pleasure of previewing.
Opened since 2003, Opus Bistro serves great Italian dishes and has been a top choice among Bangsarian. Furnished in maroon and cream, accentuated with red accents, the overall atmosphere is a laid back contemporary, very modern, quite a contrast to the classic Italian fare served.
The signature dish here at Opus which you should not miss is Roasted Cod Fish with Lemon Capers sauce, sat on a bed of mashed potato, lined with broccoli, asparagus and carrots. A very rich pleasure, if we may so ourselves.
If modern contemporary setting is not at all to your liking, then you can walk two doors down to the hacienda like setting of Cava, named after a cellar. Just like Opus, Cava is also quite popular, as such if you’re coming down in the weekend, early reservations are required.
Cava specialty is Tapas. On the menu, there are over 30 types of Tapas to choose from, so Tapas lovers are definitely in seventh heaven here. One that we couldn’t recommend enough that you ought to try is Cava’s signature Tapas, the Lamb Boulette in Mint Pepper Sauce. The bread is served warm and the olive oil and chopped basil dip is a pleasure in its own right.
Finally, for those with a palate for red meat, or to be more precise, pork, Leornado’s Dining Room and Wine Loft should just be the place for you. The décor is very renaissance-like, as befits the name of the great inventor Leornardo Da Vinci, which the restaurant pays tribute to.
As Leornado’s specialty is pork dishes, the menu is slightly different from the other two. There’s a long list of dishes to choose from, so those watching their cholesterol should be on guard, lest temptation takes over. So be warned.
But if you’re not into meat, then the second floor of Leornardo’s might be of more interest. It’s a wine loft, with a large eclectic selection of worldwide brands, as such the wide variety of tastes available should make even the most finicky of connoisseur approve. Just remember not to drive when you had one glass too many.
