Mother's Day meals in KL

Buffets, brunches, teas and dinners are common around this time of year and we compile the best to guide your Mother's Day planning.

Brunch
One of the standouts in the city is the Mandarin Oriental brunch which spreads out across four venues allowing for idle wander around dessert and mains counters as you like. The Sudu brunch is also enticing - especially the bit about a Valrhona hot chocolate counter. Forget salads, Tosca's barbeque brunch with Italian sausages and roast lamb is what every diligent mother deserves. To spare you the headache, pick up a copy of our brunch issue at newsstands for a list of the best brunch spots in KL.

Luxurious
For a more luxurious option, The La Vie En Rose menu is promising (nothing comforts like bouillabaisse) as the il Lido menu featuring wagyu beef cheek. Moving East, Chynna’s Chef Lam has come up fresh water prawn dish with kaffir lime sauce to mark the holiday.

Value for money
The Gobo Chit Chat buffet offers a one-for-one deal so if it’s just the two of you, a RM50 budget is adequate. The buffet at Essence offers a range of gourmet food and considering its standards, RM98 is a steal if refills are unlimited. Meanwhile Mill Cafe is providing free lunch to all Moms. That's something you don't hear everyday.

Large groups
Suitable for the whole family, the Makan Kitchen buffet is always reliable for familiar food, plus a kids corner will keep the mischief away. Delucca’s Mother’s Day concept this year is interesting – big plates of food (duck confit and braised beef) will be served at tables for families to share. Much like a home.

High tea
The Comso high tea will see a variety of desserts, pastries and finger food at only RM69. Cinnamon Coffee House is offering a similiar deal with Western, Indian and Japanese food stations. For a more traditional English tea, indulge in scones and macarons at Lounge on the Park.
