A free screening of The Cove, a multi-award-winning (including Best Feature Documentary at the recent 2010 Academy Awards) documentary that tells one of the most inspiring true stories of our time.

When an elite team of activities, filmmakers and free divers embark on a covert mission to penetrate a remote and hidden cove in Japan, they shine a light on a dark and deadly secret. This unforgettable story has inspired audiences around the world to action and raised hopes that thousands of the most magnificent wild animals on Earth can be saved.

In The Cove, a team of activists and filmmakers infiltrate a heavily-guarded cove in Taiji, Japan. In this remote village they witness and document activities deliberately being hidden from the public: More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat.

Total Running Time: Approx. 96 Mins (2009/USA)

Directed by Louie Psihoyos and produced by Paula DuPre Pesman and Fisher Stevens. The film is written by Mark Monroe
