Inspired not only by the pages of José Soler Puig’s novel Bertillón 166, Ciudad en Rojo also depicts the history of Santiago de Cuba towards the end of the ‘50s. The title of the film which translates to 'City of Red', shows what escalating violence in a city brings to the calm in one's life.
