Directed by Claude Allix, L’ile Mystérieuse (Mysterious Island - 2001) is an animation based on Jules Verne’s 1874 novel, and voiced by Richard Borhinger and Tom Novembre.
The story is based during the time of the American Civil War. When five Americans prisoners of war escape the famine by hijacking a balloon they fly into stormy weather and crash-land on a cliff-bound, volcanic, unknown island in the South Pacific.
