The Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival is the only international festival that offers main awards in five regional categories – Best Asian Film, Best African Film, Best European Film, Best North American Film and Best South American Film. Themed “Celebrating Cultural Diversity”, this annual film festival is organized jointly by a consortium of Malaysian entertainment companies known as KLIFF Sdn Bhd and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
This year theme for KLIFF is “Celebrating Cultural Diversity”, which is meant as a way to achieve global peace and stability, by learning to appreciate cultural differences and sharing information with one another, and as such, the organisers hope to be able to make a significant contribution towards promoting unity and tolerance amongst the people of the world.
Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival invites all film copyright owners from the continents of Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Africa to participate in KLIFF’08. Copyright owners may submit their films for nomination in the competition or strictly on non-competition basis for public theatrical screening only.
Submission for entry in the festival is open until August 12, 2008 for feature films, documentaries, animations and short films.
