All the screened films and documentary features in this festival tell the heartbreaking stories of the ongoing conflict in Palestine, and the daily struggles of ordinary Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza under 40 years of occupation. The films, many from award-winning filmmakers, are presented with the sincere hope that it will open up room for constructive discussion pertaining to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

KL Film Fest & Art Exhibition on Palestine, organised by the Malaysian Social Research Institute (MRSI), is a thee-day cultural event, featuring screenings of films about Palestine and an exhibition of artworks by contemporary Malaysian artists in response to Palestine, in conjunction with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29 November. This year marks the 60th anniversary of “al-Nakba” or “the catastrophe”, when Israel was established in Palestine territory, forcing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to become refugees in their homeland. This year is also the 40th year of the Occupation of the Palestinian territories
