SALES SUPPORT EXECUTIVES

Responsibilities:

• Provide administration & coordination support in sales communication activities
• Building and managing sales database by constantly researching for new leads to be added to the database
• Assisting manager in arranging meetings, preparing proposals and reports
• Handle incoming enquiries when sales team is not around
• Working closely with other departments for various projects
• Ensuring sales structures are property implemented

IT SUPPORT EXECUTIVE (Full time)

The ideal person must possess excellent communication skills in both English and Malay, take a common sense approach to dealing with IT problems, be thorough in their work, and beyond all else trustworthy.

Responsibilities:

• Act as primary contact for all onsite IT support requests
• Provide end-user IT support across a range of hardware and software
• Log, investigate and resolve all 1st level IT support requests
• Log and investigate all 2nd/3rd level IT support requests
• Install, configure and maintain a range of Dell and Apple workstations, and associated peripherals such as printers and scanners
• Basic infrastructure support of network, servers and backups (e.g. patching, loading tapes, etc)
• Add/modify user accounts and mailboxes within Active Directory
• Carry out daily system checks and proactive monitoring
• Develop and document day-to-day IT procedures
• Maintain IT hardware/software/licensing database

Requirements:

Beyond the need for excellent communications skills, potential candidates will be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding and knowledge of IT hardware and software support. Applicants will have studied and gained a qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology and subsequently worked in an IT support role for a minimum of one year. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and TCP-IP networking is essential. Experience of Apple hardware and software products to support our in-house production department would be beneficial, but is not essential.

CIRCULATION EXECUTIVE (Full time)

At Mongoose Publishing, we are building a dynamic and energetic circulation team in order to enhance the awareness, performance & sales of all Mongoose publications, including Time Out Kuala Lumpur, Esquire Malaysia and Expatriate Lifestyle, establish a strategic working relationship with clients and distributors. We are looking for a person to drive our success and retail and subscriptions.

Your responsibilities as a Circulation Executive will be to handle subscriptions processes, in relation to single & bulk subscriptions of all our titles, documents, labels preparation etc, while liaising with the relevant contractors, arranging for distribution and mailing processes as well plus enhancing customer relations. You will have to be meticulous and analytical in these aspects.

You will also assist in the retail aspect in terms of dealing with the retail distributor and the retail outlets plus carrying out periodic surveys. There will be targets and deadlines to be met and in addition you must possess the desire to learn, think out of the box and progress through this fast growing, dynamic company.

ART DIRECTOR

Description: The Art Director is a senior position, responsible for formulating design concepts and layout approaches on magazines at Mongoose, Malaysia’s fastest growing publishing company.

We are seeking a talented designer with 3-4 years experience, looking for an opportunity to advance their career. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in the overall development of the magazine with specific emphasis on cover design as well as taking responsibility for front-of-book and back-of-book sections, and overseeing photo-shoots. You will also need to assist in directing and implementing marketing campaigns as part of the management team.

The Right Candidate: You will have a sharp eye, high standards when it comes to the quality of photography and graphical treatments are acceptable, an understanding of aesthetical compositions, and a keen appreciation for what makes good, engaging, impactful editorial design.

You will be confident working with people and have a strong contact sheet for other designers, image libraries and photographers. You get the desired results from individuals and when executing photo shoots and have a proven track record of working successfully with a good editorial team.

The Role: The Art Director is ultimately responsible for the design and visual treatments in the magazine. They will work alongside Designers, a Photo Editor, Photographers, Deputy Editors, and particularly closely with the Editors, to find the best solutions.

The Art Director would hire, train and direct staff members – such as the Designer and Photo Editor – who are developing the visual treatments or who are preparing layouts for print.

They will also attend photo shoots and printing press checks to ensure the end products obtained are of the required standard.

The Art Director will need to be knowledgeable of the latest design techniques, tools and principles, be a competent manager and administrator, have a solid technical understanding of publishing hardware and software, appreciate the media, and be a good communicator. The Art Director has the ultimate sign-off on all page proofs.

Requirements: You will be a critical thinker who can coordinate your actions. You will also be active in the production process and ensuring that Mongoose’s high standards are kept at all times. Qualified individuals must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and be able to communicate with editors, photographic, and production personnel. Candidates MUST be familiar with InDesign and colour correcting. This position requires the ability to work independently and efficiently while meeting strict deadlines. Flexibility and a great attitude are a must.

DESIGNER

Mongoose Publishing Sdn Bhd is responsible for many of the best publications in Malaysia, including Esquire Malaysia, Time Out Kuala Lumpur, Expatriate Lifestyle and The Circular for the Royal Selangor Golf Club. We are recruiting for a designer to work on one of the above projects to help shape the award-winning content and editorial pages that we produce.

Responsibilities:

• Talented, well-qualified designer who will work under a Art Director to produce the editorial pages, as well as some advertisements. Will be able to follow design templates to achieve a unique look, yet imprint their own creativity and talents into feature articles, previews, events and promotional pages.
• Must be able to cope with regular deadlines and work well under pressure. Must also be an excellent communicator and accept critique - both positive and negative - in the right spirit.
