Aikido strongly believes that the gentle can be more powerful than the strong through proper techniques. Hence, it is a practical self-defense skill to have that emphasises wrist, elbow and shoulder locks, all of which are powerful and painful. Therefore, it is not so much a brutal physical force but a skill that understands and coordinates with the opponent's movement to gain the upper hand.
The Aikido Yoshinkan Shudokan Martial Arts Centre was established in June 2000 and has now grown to include nine other dojos in the Klang Valley. There are Aikido courses for both adult and children. It also offers half- and full-day self defense courses for women as well as a restraint and removal course, which is particularly useful for those working in the security or crowd control business. The latter will teach you how to restrain trespassers or troublemakers and remove them from the premise without injury.
