If you’re not 15, you’re forgiven if you don’t know who the hell these seemingly pre-pubescent boys are – and why girls go gaga for them. Their clean, fresh faced looks and side-swept hairdos – not to mention their obviously manufactured boyband vibe – make it just too easy for non-believers (non-Directioners?) to ridicule them, and it was only a matter of time before a parody surfaced. We particularly like this One Direction parody by musical parody geniuses The Key of Awesome, whose first real spoof dubbed ‘Ke$ha, Glitter Puke’ became a big YouTube hit in 2010.

This video is a direct parody of One Direction’s own video for their hit single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, and sees the spoof One Direction members singing at a beach in normal clothes and pants because ‘they didn’t bring any beach stuff, not even shorts’, running away from the shore because they ‘don’t know what water is’ and singing ‘Nananana’ because every hit song needs a ‘Nananana’. Watch and enjoy.

On a side note, it might just be this writer, but the members in this video seem better looking than the actual band, no?
