We’ve hit the mid-year mark, folks. If you’ve grown tired of the clothes you picked up at 2011’s end of year sales, give them a new home via Friendly Fashion. They call themselves an online community closet, and the site is like a minieBay focused solely on clothes, shoes, accessories and fashion paraphernalia. Also, no bidding – prices are fixed by the sellers, and you can even choose to swap your clothes or just give them away, should you be in a magnanimous frame of mind.
The community part comes from the adjoining Friendly Fashion Siteseeing FriendlyFashion.my forums, and also inbuilt functions where you can comment on items you like, and follow the members who sell them. Founding sisters Nadzirah and Diyana Hashim also stress that the site is based on principles of meaningful consumption, encouraging consumers to find value in their old, discarded items. At the moment there’s a real mix of brands in there – we spotted a Karen Millen dress and Miss Sixty shoes amongst the usual blogshop fare. One man’s trash…
