We're looking for a quality candidate to fill the role of editor at the Time Out office. The successful candidate will work on the Time Out Malaysia guides. To break it down, here are some of the responsibilities and requirements of the job:
Responsibilities
• The successful candidate will be responsible for running the internationally-distributed Time Out Malaysia guides.
• Responsibilities entail managing the editorial process from start to finish, coming up with impactful and entertaining content, ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of listings, and producing four annual guides that live up to Time Out’s global reputation for excellent print products.
• The four annual guides are the Guide for Visitors; Restaurants, Bars & Clubs; Shopping Guide; & Guide for Kids. They are each published annually, meaning a regular, tight production schedule.
• You will be expected to deliver high quality work on time and within a reasonable budget.
• You should be well organised and love good quality journalism and editorial products. Experience of the editorial process is a must, with a passion for magazines and guides.
• You should appreciate that the reader is the most important person in media and everything we do is with them in mind.
• This is a senior role, reporting directly to the Chief Content Officer, although on a day-to-day basis alongside the editors of the various products at Mongoose, including Time Out KL, Esquire Malaysia, Expatriate Lifestyle and more.
• It would be advantageous for candidates to be familiar with Mongoose publications and the audiences who enjoy them.
Requirements
• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in any field.
• Spoken and written English should be outstanding.
• At least three years relevant working experience in the industry is required.
