Wei Ling Gallery
This pre-war shophouse-turned-gallery is not your bog-standard studio. The building once housed architect Jimmy Lim’s office but was gutted by a blaze in 2004. Very cleverly, he rebuilt the space into an art gallery for his daughter, Wei-Ling, who used to run Townhouse Gallery in Bangsar.
Now, what you’ll find behind the rusty iron-cast railing entrance is an antique warehouse on the ground floor and a lofty three-floor gallery upstairs. And as if to expound visitors its history, the gallery has wooden flooring that reveals fragments of charred beams preserved in Perspex glasses amidst the newlaid rafters
