The Boy Who Loved Clouds is a series of 40 contemporary paintings completed in 30 consecutive days in August 2006 by artist Chong Chin Yew. This graduate from Lim Kok Wing quit his job in graphic design and used up all his savings to buy canvases and painting materials, all for his love of painting.
The exhibition this Saturday will feature the entire collection of The Boy Who Loved Clouds paintings, and also some of his earlier works from his first attempt at 30dayartist in August 2005. All of the Boy Who Loved Clouds paintings were painted on 12” x 12” canvases, subconsciously translated an impromptu, unplanned story through his vigilant imaginations to a sequence of tale-telling acrylic pictures describing moments during his discovery of spirituality and overcoming the obsession of life. You can read the story here.
Chin Yew is currently attempting another 30dayartist project, and his daily progress can be viewed at his blog. The opening ceremony for this Saturday exhibition will take place at 4pm.
