Galeri TAKSU is holding an art exhibition entitled Silent Tension, by a group of Philippine artists consisting of Lawrence Borsoto, Alfredo Esquillo Jr. and Jose Santos III.
Silent Tension underscores the continuing relevance of contemporary Philippine realism and its ability to examine and present issues fundamental to our understanding of the human condition. Though such questions on their own, without the benefit of deeper inquiry, have a tendency to decline into romanticism, efforts by such artists as Esquillo, Santos and Borsoto demonstrate the genre’s ability to expand its scope of inquiry, if not its ability to convey deeper aspects to a variety of issues that more truly reflect the realities that surround us.
The opening party of this exhibition will be held on Thursday 13 November at 7.30pm, and the exhibition will continue till 11 December.
