Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur will host an exhibition by renowned French artist Isabel Roelandts Fisher this May. A specialist in oil and acrylic paints, paper, inks and as she puts it ‘whatever else she finds interesting to put on’, Fischer utilises pictures to give her the background to create her pieces. Born in Zaire in 1961 and currently residing in KL, Fischer spent her early childhood in Africa and studied Art at The Beaux Arts in Toulon, The Ecole Superieure d’Art Moderne and The Union Centrale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Renowned for her portraits, Fisher amazingly doesn’t rely on paintbrushes but instead paints with her fingers. And we thought finger painting was only meant for kids.
