Hot-air balloons will take to the skies en masse again this year as more than
20 balloonists from 13 countries including Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, UK, Thailand, Vietnam, India,  France and of course Malaysia, display their most vibrant airborne creation.

Going with the theme ‘1 World, 1 Malaysia, 1 Fiesta’, the hot air balloons
will take off at the Monumen Alaf Baru, and to give you a taste of hovering in the air, five hot air balloons will be available to the public  for tethered  rides, from 8am to 11am and 6pm to 9pm. Can’t make it for the hot-air balloon? Join the helicopter, water ball and sphere rides instead.

The fiesta is held in conjunction with the Malaysian Sport Aviation Federation too so you’ll be able to  see other flying events like para-motor, remote control planes and professional  stunt kite flying.

The ultimate highlight, however, is this: a nightglow and firework display on the last day. Balloons are set up at sunset and  inflated as if to take off. But instead of letting them ascend, the propane  burners  are ignited, making the balloons glow like giant light bulbs.

Remember  to bring along your camera – the scenery and experience are startling.
