Divine Inspiration: Seven Principles of Islamic Architecture
The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia together with the UK's School of Traditional Art will be holding the Divine Inspiration: Seven Principles of Islamic Architecture exhibition from 28 Nov 2008 till 2 february 2009.
Each of the key beliefs of Islam will be explored in this exhibition; Tawhid (Unity), Ihtiram (Respect), Ikhlas (Sincerity), Iqtisad (Moderation/ Humility), Haya’ (Modesty), ‘Ilm (Pursuit of Knowledge), Dhikr (Remembrance). See how these were incorporated into a vast range of buildings by noted Islamic arcitects from around the world.
