Now that Christmas is over – and we hope you had a good one too, filled with joy and cheer and lots of lovely presents – it’s time to turn your heads and look toward something else – the start of 2011!

If you haven’t made any plans yet for New Year’s Eve, or if you’re just undecided about where and how you should spend it, we’ve listed down a few countdown celebrations around town we think you might enjoy, as well as a list of New Year’s eve food promotions you should make full use of before they end. Fireworks and New Year's Eve countdowns

Dataran Merdeka: the New Year’s countdown here returns again and features performances by local artists and musicians including Mizz Nina, Amy Search, Pop Shuvit and more. The event will also feature cultural dance performances and celebrity appearances to add to the evening’s entertainment before the much-awaited countdown and fireworks show rings in the New Year.
Soho KL @ Solaris Mont Kiara: Themed, ‘Samba Carnival’, the event here will feature a spectacular New Year’s countdown and fireworks display alongside live entertainment and special giveaways where you can win yourself a HTC Legend, a Blackberry 9700 courtesy of DiGi, restaurant vouchers and more!
i-City, Shah Alam: Featuring a sparkling light show and fireworks at midnight, this celebration will also have special performances and even a shopping bazaar for all you shopaholics out there wanting to make your final 2010 purchases just hours before the New Year!
Genting Outdoor Theme Park: It’s not too late to make your New Year’s a weekend trip, because there’s nothing like ushering in the New Year with fireworks on a cool, chilly hilltop above KL! Admission is free while rides will be on a pay-per-ride basis from 7pm onwards.
Tropicana City Mall: You and your family can expect a fun celebration at the Tropicana Street Party, with balloon clowns, fire breathers as well as a hip hop/R&B dance performance, Afro Loud Percussion Group performance, Joanne Kam Poo Poo Carbaret show and many more for all to enjoy.
KLCC Park: Behold the breath-taking view of fireworks over the Petronas Twin Towers at this yearly countdown party.
